And another new post here... Sue Ann Harkey was part of the squatting scene of New York's Lower East Side during the 80's, she is also featured in the Cassette Mythos book on cassette culture. She released at least two tapes and one album. The LP is now available on CD, I just checked Amazon! I highly recommend it.
Her music is similar in some respects to gamelan music or ragas, she plays koto and other unusual instruments. There is a very mature political sensibility. She did a lot of collage art for anarchist magazines back in the day, and still does art for a living today in Seattle. Here's her current web site.
This is her first tape that I know of, called I Tell You Everything, Just Not Out Loud. I used to have the track titles and liner notes for this, but I have misplaced them. Any info would be welcome.

So cool! Thanks for writing. Your work has been quite an inspiration to me.
hey n-rich I accicentally deleted your comment here, sorry! I am out of the country until early July and cannot check the files, but it is possible they expired. I also compress on a Mac which might create problems for some. At any rate, check back in July for more!
I was at the OK Hotel for lunch once, years ago, and was talking to the waitress about music. I confessed my admiration for Sue Ann Harkey & Sharon Gannon ... the waitress turned out to be the sister of one of them (Sharon's, I think) and she gave me a record album that both Sue Ann & Sharon had made! I was amazed not only by the generosity but also by the coincidence...
So wild...I used to love Sue Ann H.'s work and am clearing out my big box of cassettes from the 80s and started wondering about what that lady has been up to...
yes, I have the liner notes, song list and the little stapled booklet that came with "I Tell You Everything..." It's very intricate and creative, like SAH's work, so there's no way I can replicate it here...but if I can find time to scan it I will. The cassette also has her sticky label. One side, which might be in her original handwriting says, A - I Tell You Everything, the other simply, Just Not Outloud.
